Its the start of the year and all things bright and beautiful..hopefully. ..so thought I’d give you a few Feng shui tips, which are universal. These are valid across the board..irrespective of compass directions, which ordinarily is a factor of utmost importance .

* De-clutter: The need to rid your surroundings of dead energy, which arises out of clutter, dark corners, is paramount. You may have noticed at times that a certain area of your life is as if stagnant, or in a state of decay, decline. One can always almost say with certainty that the corresponding area of the house is either cluttered or flawed in some way. To be on the safe side therefore ensure that no area of the house is neglected. Get rid of those unused items, empty out medicine cabinets, kitchen drawers, give away to charity belongings past their utility..they only attract negative energy or clog the space with stale vibrations.

* Sound Healing : After you de clutter, its important to cleanse the aura of the house of negative energies or negative ‘qi’ present. One of the potent methods is sound..that of melodious tingle, of large bells, or chimes. Its important that you go around the house with a bell which sounds pleasant to the ears, or a ‘Tibetan singing bowl’. It would be nice if you could chant a few mantras, Buddhist, Sanskrit, or whatever, simultaneously. Remember to concentrate especially on dark corners where sunlight is not accesssible, try and reach wherever possible, under beds, behind cupboards, and so on.

Incense Burning : Our ancients, of any civilisation , culture or race almost always had some kind of incense burning ritual that accompanied religious ceremonies. This was primarily because of the ability incense has to rid the surroundings of negative ‘qi’ or energy. Concentrate on electrical points, as well. You might have noticed that some people as if drain you of energy by their presence. At other times, after a guest has left the house, something unexpected, untoward occurs. If you believe in the ‘evil eye’, then all you have to do is sound healing, incense burning, after they leave…it wont harm you, so why not abide by the dictum ‘better to be safe than be sorry’.!

Sea Salt Cleansing : This is one of the most effective method of purifying the environment. In India, the ritual of bathing in the sea after an illnesss, or if suspected to be struck with’nazar’ or evil eye, is commonplace. The same principle applies while cleansing the home. Floors of the house to be mopped with water spiked with sea salt in generous quantities, if not everyday, atleast once a week and especially after illness , bereavement, or negative squabbles. Its a good idea to place bowls with salt in corners which cannot be accessed in the everyday cleansing routine e.g. top of almirahs , underneath beds etc. Replace the bowls with fresh salt whenever possible.

External Feng shui:This connotes care towards the exterior of your surroundings. Ensure that the entrance is always kept clean, inviting. A beautiful Ganesha picture or figurine, plants, or other holy symbols like Swasitka or Om, can be included. There should be enough light at the entrance. If daylight is not available, keep lighted with electrical light fixtures at all times of day. At dusk, lights must be lit before darkness. If placing a cactus plant at entrance of house, see to it that it is not within the inner sanctum, but outer.

* Water features : While it is believed to have created miracles when placed appropriately, water is also one of the most harmful elements if not used under guidance. All those self help books, with incomplete information can cause grievous harm. I personally know of those who have taken random decisions based on “Charuhas Naik” kind of information, which was distributed freely without pre-pondering on the consequences, and have faced great loss. There are some ‘never’s’ associated with water features, as in fountains, aquariums, which must be kept in mind.

a) Never place water features in your bedroom.

c) Never have a painting or an embellishment to do with water behind your office chair or bed.

Plants : Greenery is always a welcome sight. Have as many plants as you possibly can in your home. Ensure however that they look healthy, and green. Rotate them often so that sunlight is available to all regularly. Key to placements is balance and harmony. I have noticed that in some homes, despite the constant care and supervision. plants tend to wither away. This is evident of negativity. The above measures should then be carried out more often.

Never place live plants in your bedroom. Pictures of greenery towards the east and south east is fine . I am not much in favour of dried flower arrangemnt, or fossil like show pieces. .. they spell decay and death not growth and prosperity.

*Intention : To me, it is the ingredient which determines whether or not the steps taken to attract positivity will result in success or not. ” Good intentions are the seed of good actions”. So while placing a fortune symbol, as say, a ‘laughing Buddha, or even carrying out ritualistic cleansing, one must do it with the intention of its effectiveness and not in doubt of its efficacy. Advisably, any changes to your immediate surroundings should be made before 4.00p.m. and after 7 a.m

All of the above tips are those which I have personally experimented with. They are safe and cannot cause harm, therefore decided to share it with all. Over and above all else, a positive, frame of mind, with a benevolent outlook, healthy respect for oneself and others, is the magic mantra which invites well being. Negativity attracts negativity, the opposite being true as well. Karma is above all. A pure mind in a healthy body, a spirit which resonates with well being will eventually translate into contentment.

  1. Thanks alot.It was most helpful..If I may ask a few questions..

Firstly by sea salt you eman the khara namak am I right?

second about water..can we place pictures of a water fall or something? my wife has made one and I have put it near our bed. if i am asked to tell you about the effects if any then i can say that losses have been there but how can I be sure.

third about the incense..any special kind or just any will do?

    Comment by krishnan — January 4, 2007 @ 3:13 pm | Reply

  2. Yes -..khara namak is correct..NOT the iodised, but pure unprocessed.

Krishnan, you will have to assess keeping in mind the time when you kept the painting and the events which followed. As a rule, per se and also from personal observation, water pictures or features in a bedroom lead to unforeseen expenses, high maintenance of equipment or expenses related to it, income and outgoings either falling on par, or increased outgoings. If you have not experienced any of this then you need not worry.

Incense..Oh! ideally it should be from herbs found in the Himalayas called ‘Dashang Dhoop”..but I guess in the circumstances the purest you can place your hands on.

  4. Lol..Puja for it to be real effective you must mail me your dob. It will help me to advise your personal directions . But meanwhile, wear a rose crystal, invest in a good compass, and in the south west corner of your bedroom, place a vase of flowers, a picture of love birds, peonies..refresh the flowers often. But if I calculate your personal love direction, from your d.o.b, that will be better.

  5. Wow, wonderful tips Kaveetaa!! I am so glad you shared them. It is not surprising then, as I have dried flowers in most rooms, in vases, or wicker baskets hanging… eeek!

I read this post earlier, and walked around my home, to see it’s pitfalls. I have no water pictures anywhere, but lots of nic nacs…frames. One pic of my deceased brother on the wall(some said it’s not a good thing to do.. is it?)

I have been de-cluttering since springtime, trying to change from 3 bedrooms to one bedroom possibly; and it’s amazing how much energy I feel in my home; and in that, I have a little more energy too. One room was for laundry machines, and all storage. It was the storage that went, keeping minimum.

Financial stress seems to be what keeps me down in fears swimming pool; how can I increase the flow of abundance, towards financial independance?

I have a window in each room.. but unable to put plants in front of them, b/c of floor gas heater hole blowing up heat.. only in one window of a bedroom I can… I have 2 donkey tail plants, and three jerusalem star plants. One hanging, two with the donkey tails. All the other rooms/ I went dried flowers/plastic…

My entrance is an unfinished ugly porch… very cold, wood and pipe storage. real uck!! and not much can be done to improve it.. I have an Indian Dream Catcher there, a long bead totem(energized with my prayer mantra) and a butterfly windchime made of woods….

my kitchen lenolium is 30 years old, if not older.. I hate it so much; it’s tattered, torn, stained. I know I am projecting bad energy about it.. though my cooking is still wonderful(wink.) I was told on rent day Jan.1st I may get tiles in the spring…. yippee!!

No window in the bathroom.. glass shower in corner, and big bright lights above sink… 3 merlot wood hearts with butterfly hair clips on one wall.. LOL and on the other, different butterflies.. I am a butterfly collecting person…NOT real ones though!!

Each room is box-shaped; with a window; or a floor heater.. so it’s so hard to change things in here.. I feel terribly closed in here. and have not really enjoyed being in this home..

come to think of it.. since I moved here; I’ve had real bad luck, thoughts, energy and NO sleep!!

Kaveetaa.. could there be an evil entity here?

with love and appreciation, and appology for my longgggg post.. but I am desperate for positive change.

  7. Another question for you, please… :)

Do you have any knowledge about gems? I ask because I want to know the effect of Topaz embedded in Gold worn on the right index finger on a Arien male.
    Thanks!

  8. Hi North,

Read your post in detail since I am aware of the problems at your doorstep..come to think of it, are they at your doorstep? North, if possible try and paint the pipes red, if they are drainage ones, in the porch. Keep them covered with heavy metal alternately. In the circumstances, since I cannot personally judge the situation, try and make it welcoming , pleasant, even for your own idea of aesthetics..you are so creative, think of energising it positively.

Bathrooms and toilets should be pleasant but I am against keeping energising items there ..Since toilets are in our house, when ideally they should have been in the outer quarters as was prevalent in olden days, effort has to be made to cut down on their negative metal energy..so red doors, ..I know its yuck..but a red bulb has sometimes worked for people.

Butterflies to me seem positive and a thing of beauty, but they also are constantly moving..not stable and still. How about a Nice Mount Everest Picture a steady mountain force in the north west of your bedroom or your living room?

Did you sprinkle holy water around the house before taking possession? Do it even now if you haven’t. Incense is important..morning and at dusk..go around the house with the incense sticks, if possible.

How is the North of your hall and south east, which is the money corner? If possible the main door should not have a window or another door directly in front of it..the energy flows out.

Picture of your deceased brother should be placed on a south facing wall.

Keep busy, and cultivate positive thoughts at all times North.

I will give you an exercise which helps energise you and your surroundings with positivity..its worked well for me and a lot of others.

Sit cross legged on a mat on the floor, or your bed..close your eyes and watch your breathing..feel the peace within. When you are completely calm, then send strong wishes of goodwill and love, to all creatures seen, unseen, your neighbours, friends, relatives and the world at large..Pray for all to be Happy, peaceful. Do it for a few minutes everyday..Selflessly give of your benevolent emotions..Peace be to all. Then feel the peace within for a few minutes. All will be fine. Be postive to generate positivity. Do not evaluate personal success with worldly gain . .Bless you.

  9. Hi Anon-Mommy..Thanks :)

The south west corner of your sons bedroom or the room he uses most often should be energised. It is the corner of fruitful relationships. How about placing a picture of entwined hearts, peonies, love birds, on the wall and a vase of fresh flowers which he takes care of and tends to, changes water as often as needed and replenishes with new flowers. The south west is an earth corner, so fire element energises it. A red lamp or yellow and red flowers will be a good combination. Hope it works for him. Since I dont know his d.o.b. and his personal realtionship direction, South west which is Universal has been suggested. A girl, of around 26, found her mate within a month or so of following this routine. Heres hoping it brings you a lovely daughter-in-law :)

Topaz or ‘Pukhraj’ adds power to Jupiter in the horoscope. It is normally considered a beneficial stone if you have been able to procure a good and clear one. It has little to do with being an Aries but more to do with placement of Guru or Jupiter in the horoscope. Its a safe stone, more or less. But as a thumb rule, without consulting an astrologer, stones should not be worn.. Its a little like taking antibiotics without a doctors prescription. Has it suited him? Effects are known within a couple of months .

  10. Grateful thanks and appreciation for your time, Kaveetaa.. I will have to find a compass, to learn which wall is what… painting/using red is OK with me.. it’s my favorite colour!!

There is a window, beside the entrance door to the apartment, leading into the porch with window, and a glass outer door. I will make changes, to enhance the entrance…

Also, I will try the method you provided; with high hopes of achieving inner calm.

Thanks Kaveetaa.. you are a gold charm!!
    Love, North

I will try to implement these & I will definitely let you know if it works. :)

He has been using Topaz for only a few days now. & yeah it was for “fortifying” the effects of Jupiter or something. One “bujurg” in the family did it for him. Anyway. Thanks again!

  18. Hello ,

I am asking for any comments or help. I have had the worse happenings with financing and employment. For instance, I had only a part-time job for a year no job for a year and a half, and then I had a job that was part time recently where I was literally harassed (turning my work and pictures and business cards up side down in my cubicle, snickers and talking about what a I wear how I write ect. every other hour, yes, they invested a lot of time to do this when the HR person was not there or when the managers were not there which was often. One was my supervisor the other was the receptionist who was her best friend, the supervisor admitted (after I confronted her to ask her to please stop as I could obviously hear her we have only cubicles not walls)that they were doing this and said she would stop but it never did so it became to hard for me to hear derogatory things literally three hours of every day I was there. This kind of thing has happened twice in the last three years only a different setting. These people never denied they were doing hurtful things to me. So it is not in my head, and most things are a part of written records with no denial. I have had a car repossessed and went in to foreclosure twice all in the last three years. It seems as though nothing as gone right. I have not written about this before. I have learned very recently not to focus on the bad. But I am now asking for help. My house is in a nice neighborhood but it is the worse as far as condition. I have a broken windows in the breeze-way mainly due to rotten wood that was hidden during the inspection when I bought the house. I had even tried to get the breeze way fixed recently, and the guy I paid, Who claimed to be so extremely Jesus following, never came back to finish the breeze way. I paid him in full (keep in mind money has not exactly flowed thus far). So they breeze way has two floor to ceiling windows out and the front two are broken. The good news is I am selling the house for about 15thousand dollar profit and have the option to rent the house. My children have had bouts of peace and then chaos. Something is going on. I can not quite but my hands on it. My living room mas one chair in it and has so for the past five years except fort the picture I have now rearranged. I live by a grave yard and did morn about a year after my mom died about three years ago. Help Help.

  19. Hello Kaveetaa,

Thank you for the tips and guide line. My problem is ever since I entered my husband’s home in Dec 07, I find that there is no closeness between me and my husband. Its like we are drifting apart. Also there is no Prosperity, Health and wealth in the house.
Our bedroom (it is like a hexagonal shape)has 3 bay windows that face my side of the bed. A dresser with mirror is on the opposite at an angle to the bed facing these windows. The door to our room/bed is also at an angle.
Certain areas of the house does have clutter but I cannot remove them at present.
One of the walls have photograph of my husband with his late wife and the other with his late wife and 2 kids. A carton full of her clothes lies in our closet. I am afraid to hurt his and more to the point hurt the children’s feelings to ask them to remove these objects.
Also the entrance to the house and the passage (not that lighted)is slightly at an angle leading to the dining area.
Mostly we use the door from the garage that leads to the kitchen to enter or go out of the house. Does this have any impact on my dilemma and life with my husband. Please help me!!!! I am an emotional wreck in just 2 months.

A great believer of Feng shui

  20. charisma 4u..Hi’

You do seem to be having problems. I am glad that you are shifting out. Close to a grave yard and broken windows is negative.

Ensure that your next house, is not close to a hospital or church, temple or at the end of a t junction.

Whatever the circumstances if the positioning cannot be rectfied, try and mae a series of positive and energising symbols placed around the house, religious or some that give YOU a feeling of peace and calm. The tips I have given in the post will help in even getting you a house of your choice.

The friendship sector or North west seems to be adversely affected. If possible with the help of a compass, locate the North West of your hall and energize with metal or earth features. Natural crystal, Metal chimes, 6 rods or seven rods would do well. I have to be general, since particulars are not known and unless one sees the actual location its difficult.

Most importantly, make it a point to meditate, summon the peace within, even prayer beads (mala) with a Shiv Mantra or ganesha mantra..anything which energises you and removes you mentally from your problems. Remember that we face what we are supposed to and for a specific purpose. So try and find out what direction, life is taking you towards.

All the best and God Bless!

  21. Hi Gold face

First of all love your handle name..gold face..’sonmukhi’..its so positive.

I can sense what you are going through.

If the mirrors are directly facing your bed, then please ensure that you cover them with a cloth before retiring for the night. If the mirrors are also facing a window directly, try and keep the curtain drawn.

The photograph of your husband with his late wife, is definitely not recommended. I can understand that it can be a sore point. maybe you should suggest to your husband that the future cannot be based with strong foundtaions, if he is in a photograph with a deceased. Her snap should be separate and on the south wall of your Hall.

The bedroom should have a cosy, warm picture of the two of you. Her clothes, belongings etc, are causing you a problem as well, subconsciously. Slowly with faith and maturity make the desired changes. Win him over with love, patience and maturity. Feel cofident in your self that all will be well. Concentrate on his virtues.

In the South west corner of your bedroom place a rose crystal and a red lamp..likewise in the south west of the hall..you can place here a vase of red flowers.

Try and click snaps of you the kids and your husband and place them on strategic walls in the bedroom and wall. But not the kitchen or bathroom walls.

Begin entering from the front door..not the garage and kitchen..it can be the source of problems. Light it well and make it inviting.

Make these changes with positivity and all will soon be well.

    God bless and take care

  22. Thank you very much Kaveetaa!!!
Just reading your reply gives me a boost. But am having huge ups and downs of thoughts every now and then. I will try to suggest to my husband some subtle changes.
RE: his late wife’s photograph. We have 2 halls. One is used by the kids where my husband and his wife’s picture is there (east wall). The other is in the dining area of all 4 of them ( the direction will be north east wall-roughly). Which one should I remove first? Also there is another one of the two of them in the main hall that we use – on the TV unit – north. Other than these noticable photographs there are a few of her and him with the kids in drawers and albums???? What do I do?
Personally I do not mind the photographs as much as her personal items. But if the same photographs are affecting my married life and peace of mind then I’d rather not have them. Cant we have our photgraphs taken and hung and also keep these? Or maybe shift these to the childrens room? I do not like to hurt anyone’s feelings. The lady was very sweet. No fault of her.
I am sorry I shall be pestering you but i need all and any HELP you can give.

Shall look forward to your suggetions eagerly.

    Gold face.

    Comment by gold face — January 29, 2007 @ 2:00 pm | Reply

  23. Hi Gold face,

The photograph on the east wall should be removed first.

Will it be possible to suggest to your husband that you keep a particular place of your house devoted to his wifes belongings..maybe a small closet.. with a nice idol of Ganesha on top of it and her snaps there maybe with incense burning as a ritual everyday. This way all will be happy and the incense burning will keep her respect intact. The children can be explained that just as we have a ‘dev sthan’ for God , we are keeping a ‘sthan’ for your mother. Ensure that this faces south. It should not have your husband in those snaps which are displayed..kept inside is fine. Hers alone.. those snaps can be re printed this way.

Keep new snaps of you with the family all over the house, especially in your bedroom.

Fill your home with your love and laughter.. make dishes which will bring on your stamp and ability. You are your own person and special..Feel that.. make that place in your husbands heart with patience. No insecurity is needed. He is in as much need of re assurance as you are. It must be tough on him as well. Slowly all will be fine. Keep your reactions under check and remember that a woman is a home maker and your family looks up to you for that.

    Love and God bless

(sorry for the delay in response)

  25. Dear Kaveetaa,

Apologies for acknowledging your mail so late!! But I have been trying out somethings in the house. One of them being ringing a bell at the temple daily, circulating burning incence with a special prayer throughout each room for solving my dilemma. So far all is at peace. The ups n downs are less but not gone altogether to my satisfaction.
My mother in law has suggested removal of his late wife’s clothes for charity. It was her suggestion altogether. Hope it will be taken into action soon.
When you say that the late wife’s photographs should face the south – meaning her fotos should be placed on the north side/wall/closet of the house as if she is looking in the south direction/wall etc???
I understand that my husband has gone through a difficult time in the past and he needs time. I shall try and do as you suggest.
One of the things that can help cure the problems is the lost prosperity in my husbands life. Here I am defining prosperity in all terms, monetary, relationship and outlook on life (highly pesimistic attitude). How can I solve this problem? Also I am unable to get a good job. Wouldplacing of Feng shui articles help? I await your guidance. Thank you.

  26. Dear Goldface,

I am happy to know that all is peaceful. For complete satisfaction, some more time will be needed. Please keep up the energising and positive vibration exercise. Above all do not feel any anxiety or doubt ..it has a way of nullifying any positive effect. Live in the moment, without any emotional baggage and believe in belief :)

Yes on the north wall facing south, is the right place for her photographs. Your m-i-l suggesting to donate her clothes is also a positive sign of progress.

Since I do not know your husbands date of birth, as a general instruction , in the South east corner of your hall , keep plants, healthy and well maintained. Keep that area especially clean and well looked after. You ca place any emblem of prosperity that you deem fit here..something which speaks to you of wealth.

Use you creative intuition when perfectly calm, preferably after some meditation, and then visualise yourself going to work..do not send negative vibrations or doubts.. imagine it realistically and release to the Universe to fulfill your desire..

All will be fine..Keep smiling and love all from within.

    All the best!

    Kaveetaa

Please follow the cleansing routine as explained in the post as precisely as you can. It may prove of great help..more than you can imagine.

Place a picture of a rising sun in the east wall of your hall, or even a symbol would suffice.

Its important to surround yourself in your home with images/pictures/plants/music/ anything which calms you and energises you. Take off anything that takes you back into the past, depresses or pulls you down in spirit.

We tend to attract towards us the emotion we send out.. it is such a catch 22 situation. I know. But sometimes our obstacles are the challenges which open up doors and veer our life in the direction best suited for us. Sp its important to leave the past behind as one would footsteps on sand on the beach.. they will soon be washed away without a trace.. so why delve on it.

Remember to smile often..laughing loud will be just wonderful…try it now..

Sard to wife: The light may have gone.. but atleast put on the fan!

Wife: Spoken like a true sard.. if I do that wont the candle go off?
    :)

Surrender yourself to the Universe in faith and with Love firm in the belief that you are the best and deserve nothing but the best. His Plan will work for you.

If you are in the mood to try some meditation, which according to me is the panacea for all ills, why dont you consider visiting the Vippassana centre at Igatpuri.. if you are in Mumbai..or anywhere in the world closest to you. They have centres all over.It will alter you wholly ..forever. And bring into your life the positivity you crave for.

They book online as well.. its free and open to all.

    God Bless and take care.

  29. Dearest Kaveetaa,
thanks a lot for your help. Its positive to simply read the response….im feeling a bit better than last week.talking a lot to clsoe friends have indeed helped a lot. i shall consider Vipasana on coming weekend. What bothers me is my work which is getting affected and so also my relationship with my parents. Things at home are tensed because of all of it. id tehre a way to have things between my family members and myself to be sorted out. we are a family of three and in that too we are on no talking terms.

  30. So glad to know that you are feeling better Lambri.

For some peace at home with dear ones, how about energising the south west corner of your living room or bedroom with a red lamp/image/painting..Keep a group photograph of the family there. Remember to sit back quietly at some part of the day especially morning, close your eyes, try and quieten your mind, by watching your breathing. When the mind has calmed down, not many thouhghts going helterskelter, then from within send out a feeling of love, forgiveness, to your family, ..recall better times, their love for you and let the waves of love flow out..Do it regularly.. you will soon see the change. Live in the present, the past is dead and gone..start afresh with renewed hope..

The best is yet to come..Have faith in the future.

    Take care

  31. Hello
My name is Lynda , I have a problem with my boyfriend family making me feel so bad, that he is very unhappy. They don’t want him with me. Do you think , this energy clearing can help his family to give myboyfriend peace to love me. The mother says if you stay with her your father will die. We have been together 9 years , and live together 5 years. His family never meet me. Because the mom refuses to accept me. The last 3 years since his Father has been ill , My boyfriend gave up fighjting with them . He told the mother he is leaving me , when he is done helping me with our business. I know my boyfriend wants , a child and marriage , but they willn’t allow it with me. Please tell me if you believe that I should get a reading and the energy clearing . I know in my heart my boyfrined loves me , but he is so unhappy now.
    Thanks

  32. Lydia,

I can understand your problem totally. You have been with him for 9 years which by any standards is a a long time.

Energy clearing should be carried out as a routine in any case.

A reading..you mean a professional feng shui? If yes, then ofcourse…go ahead. Feng shui can help alter energies if there are imbalances at home or in the workplace.

Basically, as a woman, I would suggest that you allow your boyfriend to make up his mind, even if it means leaving him alone for a while. If he is yours , none can take him away, if not, then your clinging on will only make him want to break free. Leave the decision to him. You have proven your love and loyalty ..its time he does as well.

Its not an easy time for him. His fathers illness may be a source of great stress coupled with the strain of being told to break free from you..

Lie low Lydia.. Let things straighten out on their own. On your part, do not stop loving him, if you are sure of him. Pray for his father, send out peace vibes from you to his family. Do not make it an ‘I’ vs ‘Them’ situation. If the rift is not further widened from your side, it will die its own death. Harmony will prevail.

.Above all..have faith in the ‘Plan Maker’ and his plan for you.

    Keep smiling..

    All the best

  33. Dear Kaveetaa,

Thank you for the thumbs up on my small efforts to sort out my life! An approval works wonders:-) Brings out the positive and optimistic side in oneself.
Being a fighter guess I decided to wade thru troubled waters to make my life happy. Plus your guidance helped me to unbelievable extent.
Noted your suggestions for placing the late wife’s photographs. Shall do so accordingly but will have to give my husband time to reconcile to his thoughts of her and his future with me now.
My husband’s birth date is 17th May, 1962. Mine is 27th June, 1964.
Thanks for the advise on the job front. Will do accordingly. Till then shall continue the energising and the positive thoughts:-)
Once again I am so happy I got to meet you online. You have put a smile on my face!!! Thank you very much.

  34. Dear Goldface,

The effort is yours and so is the positive affirmation.. my contribution is totally minimal ..perhaps just a nudge to awaken your inner potential.

Its wise to give your husband time to reconcile with the rather traumatic turn of events . I am certain your patience and calm demeanour will go a long way in ensuring a peaceful and harmonious future for both of you. Take things in your stride. Life is full of ups and downs. Enjoy the waves that undulate, remembering that its effervescent and will some day just fizzle out.

Numerologically, your birth number is fortunate for your husband. It will nullify the Saturnian effects of his. Although this is a vast science and its unfair to give any readings on the net. However, since this was a positive sign I decided to inform you..to boost your morale.

Taurus and Cancer are a favourable combination..earth and water. His pragmatic and stoic approach may be misunderstood. Beneath the surface beats a warm heart. Your Cancerian sensitivity will have to be kept under check as also your mood swings especially in these crucial ‘teething stages’ of your relationship. A little give and take and all will be fine.

God Bless and take care…. And keep smiling..sonmukhi :)

  36. I am so happy for you Lambri. Living life to the fullest is not just insurance for a great present but also a joyous future..keep it up!!

I have never heard of a wooden snake. But since its not entirely a negative symbol, perhaps you can keep it to the east of your living room. Keep the coins with the red ribbon in a wallet you most often use. The two hanging crystals you can place in the south west of your hall…as also the two candles.

Blue colored stones is not a clear description. If they are refined and rounded place them in the centre of your living room, on the centre table.

If possible on the east wall of your hall try placing a picture or symbol of a rising sun..also in the south east place healthy Bamboo plants. For the directions I suggest you take the help of a good compass..unless the east overlooks your window directly and there is no confusion in basic directions.

All the best.. keep smiling and take care.

  39. Sorry for the delay guys..was on vacation.

Meera I have received your mail as well. I will be responding to you on complete assessment.

    Hi Aishwarya,

Your destiny and fate numbers are well matched as well as lucky. You will be completing your 24th year this August..Dont worry ..all will be well. Its not possible for me to suggest a change of job or some such without a reading of the kundli and placement of various planets. And frankly neither am I an expert on it.

Your ruling planets are sun and Jupiter..both speak of authoritative jobs..generally. So your seeking IAS as a career is a good choice.

Your name totals to a number two. It would be good if you would could bring it to a number 6.. by adding 4. Can you add an initial of say D,T ? Parents name? Basically..one should not experiment until absolutely sure..

You are a cusp between Gemini and Taurus. This year is good for Geminians.

Place an ‘education tower’ available at fengshui stores in the North East of your hall.

Instinct tells me that you will succeed..But projecting doubts and anxiety may harm you. Proceed with confidence and a feeling of great self worth. Your birth date is auspicious..you are destined to be successful..

best of luck and take care..

    Keep smiling :)

  41. Hi Gurmeet,

Whats the hurry girl? Enjoy it while it lasts .. being footloose and fancy free I mean. About the year its not possible for anyone to predict merely on a birth date. But generally speaking based on your birth date..your 3oth and 32 nd year seem to be right.. which means this year is ‘hot’.

As mentioned earlier on in the comments section, energise the South West of your bedroom and hall with flowers, fresh or otherwise and paintings of anything that implies love to you. How about wearing a rose crystal? And most of all, surrender to the will of the Universe after you have given off your wish in meditative silence and leave it to the energies around you to do the needful.

Librans are balanced, joyful people who enjoy beauty.. so surround yourself with harmony and beautiful objects. You are not even 30.. cheer up.. all will be fine..

    Bless you and keep smiling..

  42. Dear Kaveeta,

My DOB is May 09, 1968. My full name is given in the email address.

While my job progress has been fast in the last 2 years, stability has been absent.

While I can attribute some of the effects and financial problems to the house I shifted in about 6 months back, the honest thing is to admit that these problems have been going on since about 2 years now.

    My wife’s DOB is October 07, 1976.

    My daughter – Jaunary 29, 2005.

I am currently out of a job, but expecting a very opening soon. But this seems to be getting delayed beyond normal.

    Any suggestions???

    Thanks,

    Sail

    Comment by Sailesh — June 22, 2007 @ 2:48 pm | Reply

  43. Hi Sailesh,

Dont be anxious..all will be fine!!

I have studied your case through fengshui astrology. The period ahead is good. This perhaps is the last phase of your problems. There are all chances that this year itself the worst will be over.

You are an earth person born in the year of the monkey, as in fengshui. Green, brown, white, gold are your lucky colours. Use them as much as possible in your clothing and interiors. According to numerology too 9 is your birth number, which indicates Mars and the color red playing an important part in your life. ..but avoid too much use of it.

Being under the influence of destiny number 2, the moon and its attributes, namely moodiness, depression, and brooding may harm you. Make a conscious effort to be positive in your outlook and temperament.

From what I gather, all is good, very good in fact. Its only a matter of time. Spring cleaning of the mind is essential. Breathe in prosperity and breathe out negativity. Brighten up your home with lights and do not entertain a negative thought for long before it takes seed in your subconscious.

    Keep smiling..

As for Reiki, I would definitely recommend that you do it.I dont know anyone in Hyderabad. The best teacher I know and who was my Guru, is now in Jaipur.Mostly, however these things have a way of working out. You have sent your wish to the Universe, soon the answer will present itself. Keep on the look out for clues. It is very nice to hear of your desire to be of help to others. There is nothing more fulfilling than that.Go ahead, full steam.

  49. Dear Smita,

The answer to this I am afraid is linked to your birth date. If indeed you wish to be so deeply involved with Feng shui, as is obvious from your question. There cannot be a Universal direction for all. According to Vastu , it should be facing the South east.

Calm yourself. Surrender your wish to the Universe. Then wait calmly, doing your bit unattachedly. Please do not invest your energy in trying desperately to making something happen. It will if it is good for you. It can be worrisome I know. But believe me..just have faith in your deity, pray, smile a lot, do not sow seeds of anxiety within and expect the best. Resonate with well being and love, from within. All will be well. Things will fall into place.

  53. Hi Lambri,

    All is well thank you.

Please advise your friend to clear medicine cabinets. Also to ensure that her house does not resemble a mini hospital with medicines etc. lying around. Salt water moppings are highly recommended, as is burning of dashang dhoop or some herbal agarbati. Ring melodious bells around the house and in corners, dark and unlit.

At the entrace of the house, the lady of the house should make an ‘Om’ and ‘Swastik’ on either side of the door. Keep the entrance well lit and clean. Keep the windows of the house open atleast in the first half of the day.

Diet should be Satvik at such times. Start the day with vegetable juice of ‘lauki’. It is extremely beneficial for internal cleansing for all ages. Water intake should be high as also fruits in the first half of the day. Avoid eating much after sun down..keep it light.

    Read the Hanuman chalisa.

  56. Hello Anjoo,

From what I read according to Feng Shui he is an east person, therefore directions such as east, North, south east and south are best for him..with East and South being the best. If he sleeps with his head in either of these directions it will help in keeping him harmonious and peaceful from within. Avoid colors like black, gray, green brown. Red, white and gold will help him.

Keep your bedroom light and airy. Positive picture frames. I have noticed some houses have violent frames of hunting, killing etc, or ferocious animals. Avoid that.

Burn incense often in all rooms. Encourage him to enroll in meditation classes if possible. This is a good period for him career wise..so there should no be worry on that count. Balance his aggressive energy with loving and peaceful vibrations from your side.

  60. Hi Teri,

So sorry to hear about the rather unsettling phase you are going through. Please be brave and bear it stoically. This too shall pass..believe me.

Have you tried the remedies I have written of in the post?

Incense sticks, holy water sprinkling in the rooms, de cluttering are all extremely potent and positive and cleansing activities. Please go around your house and notice all your artefacts in detail. Remove anything which spells of negativity, maybe a painting or a statue which does not mirror growth.. a dead plant, dried wood arrangement. These are negative and deaden the place.

If possible place a bamboo plant or any other indoor plant in the South east of your living room.

Open windows regularly and air the rooms. Clean off Kitchen cabinets, cupboards and ignored files and folders. In other words liven your surroundings. Make it a point to lighten the atmosphere with music which is pleasing and calming to your ears.

As much as your environment, lighten up your spirit as well. go for long walks and breathe deeply. Live in the moment and look for excuses to smile and better still, laugh. We always look for happiness and wait for things to happen when it is within reach this present moment.. here and now. Feel Peaceful within and surrender to the Will of God. Thy will be done. Remember He loves you..more than you know and more than you can imagine. All will be well :)

  63. Hello Kaveetaa,

Writing to you aftera loooong time. Well the reason being everything was ok till now. Not smooth but going on. I am now working and can now contribute to the household expenses and help my husband. It seemed he was also happy. We did have a few ups and downs but tried to talk it out i.e until recently. The past 6 weeks have been one big turmoil for me.
My mother-in-law fell ill and passed away last week. Ever since she fell ill my husband started regressing. He became very quiet, would not speak with me, started to smoke again and drink more than usual. I want to comfort him but it seems he does not want it. But you know me I am a crab that is tenacious so kept on talking to him. He kept rejecting my approach for comfort, which hurt me to a great extent. I was completely lost…was going into depression. yesterday we had a big fight in that I said some words that should not have been said i guess…my only excuse or reasoning is that I want to be there for him but seems he thinks otherwise. The result is he told me to leave the house. I said no and that I want to be with him. He said “he does not love me anymore and since we both are unhappy we might as well part.”
I am in a country (australia) where I am all alone as against all his family (30 of them)!!! In my heart I know we can be happy as long as he opens up and starts to live in the future than in the past (incase you may not have a reerence he lost his forst wife 5 yrs ago). Beacuse of the mourning I am unable to energise the house with the dhoop which was my sanity. Infact I had noticed that the days I was unable to energise the house then something or other happened that led to problems with my husband.
Recently I received a gift of laughing buddha from one of his neices. I donot know where I should place it so I placed it on the ledge of the main passage from the main door. facing the main door. I think this has led to problems. Am I correct? please guide me as to the correct placement of the buddha.
Also I did place a photograph of my husband and myself in our bedroom on the dresser in the south west corner….is that ok?
Kaveetaa please guide me how I can save my marraige. my DOB is 27th June 1964 and my husband’s is 15th MAy 1962. I’d love to call you.. 65. First of all I apologise for the delay in response to all of you.

    Dear Surya,

Yes you are both East group which is good and also numerologically well suited. As for the problems with your neighbours, you should certainly not let it affect you to this degree. It is your mind which can either minimise or maximise a situation. Also if you have to think about them then I would suggest do so positively. If possible carry out this ritual, Sit in meditative pose ina quiet room. Breathing normally calm your mind as much as possible chanting ‘OM’.. when you feel calm, from within think of your neighbours as fellow souls .. imagine the negativity between the two of you as if a huge ball which is suspended in the air. Now with the power of your call for divine help. imagine it being broken into pieces and swept away in space. Then send out positive vibrations of love and friendliness towards them. Consider the events that occurred as a karmic debt which had to be repaid and forgive them. You will find that when you do not react negatively even in your own home , slowly animosity will phase out. Also strengthen the south west of your living room with yellow and red flowers and light.

    Love and blessings

    Kaveetaa

    Dear Sonmukhi,

Dont let yourself feel so disturbed. Believe me you will make matters worse if you insist on quick solutions to this problem.

I have studied your date of births the feng shui way. You are a dragon and he is tiger. Both are hot tempered and demanding as well as dominating. I think this can create a problem. Please do not nag him or hound him for attention. He does not seem to be the type who will bow to pressure. He wants to lead and not follow. Therefore leave him alone for a while.

I am glad to know you are working. Keep yourself productively occupied which also means that when you work you only work.. dont think of him. Do not strengthen your problem by sending negative energy. Brooding will deteriorate matters. Cheerfulness, positivity, calm and joyfulness will dissipate the problem slowly.

If possible place an amethyst under your bed tied with a red thread on which you can chant the ‘gayatri mantra’. Place it under the space of your feet. Sleep on his right.

He is I think a loner. If you want this marriage to work you will have to understand and accept that and work around it. We women tend to make the man in our life the center of our existence which may not be such a good thing always. Men need their space and tend to take ‘clingers’ for granted. So dont be one.Keep your dignity, let him be alone for a while at the same time letting him know you are not averse to a dialogue..but are not insistent of it right away. Loss of a mother can be shattering. Let him work it out of his system.

Navratri s on.. search my post on the same in sachiniti. If you like please chant ‘ Om aim reem kleeng chamunde vicche namaha’ the mantra for Mother to bestow blessings on you. If you have a ‘mala’ of 108 beads chant on it. Prayer to the almighty is always good karma. We are sent into this world finally to gain knowledge through the body and circumstances we are born into. each experience is leading us on somehwere if only we care to look .

your feng shui placements are correct..dont worry!

After death and illness incense burning is an absolute must. Why have you discontinued? In case your husband is objecting do not insist. Instead ensure that you change the salt containers regularly and place them in all corners of rooms as also dark places.

Dont precipitate matters dearie..let it be. Sometimes things sort themselves out.. if only we dont interfere and insist on doing it ourselves. Concentrate on your own karma , your life and well being for a while. Surround yourself with books and activities all the time with positivity.

Send him positive vibrations after your puja.. make prasad in the house and feed all.

    Lots of love

Keep smiling :)Please dont let go of the lustre.. believe me He loves you and has a plan for you. Have faith.

    Dear Anon,

I would suggest you read the above comment and try to work on the suggestions.

Your in -laws may not be your best friends but you can in your heart be their well wisher.Dont let their actions affect you…be happy win your self. To be like the dancer with a pot on her head.. to all it seems like she is dancing but her attention is on the pot of water on her head so that the water may not spill out. We have to learn to be like her. Play out our Karma with attention on the Higher self, God, Krishna, Almighty or whatever you like to see Him as.

  67. Dear Surya,

Count your blessings. You have a son, a loving husband and a life more or less free from financial troubles. Do you realise that there may be mothers pining for a son and ready to go to any lengths, even stealing a child. Or there may be girls not able to find a suitable match and are spinsters even at 40.

What I am trying to imply is that no human being is ever going to be rid of problems. We are born here to learn, experience and grow spiritually. Its only through adversities that the best within us comes to the fore. E.g. you are now beginning to assess and analyse yourself and realise that you are short tempered. You will now also proceed to involve yourself in good karmic deeds as advised. Would all this have taken place if you had a life free of hardship? Probably not.. since everything was going just fine. So try and look at events this way.

    Your house number is good.

There is a good site which has prescribed some remedial measures for Shani, rahu, ketu which are easy to follow. Read here :

    http://www.jyotish-remedies.com/easy_remedial_measure.htm#Shani

Try and do whatever of these remedies you can perform. They will not harm you. Good deeds performed with an honest intention can only attract positivity. Maybe you are going through stresses so that you could earn some good karma with donations and charity etc.

For Shani a good mantra to say on your ‘mala’ is ” Om Sham Shanicharaya Namaha’ on Saturdays. If possible try and read the Hanuman chaalisa too.

In law problem is as old as the hills. We have to learn to react maturedly. Nothing can affect us until we do not allow it. Win your husbands trust and love by showing him a tolerant and patient side to you. Perform your duties towards your in laws no matter what. Believe me, respecting elders even if they are in the wrong is the best possible karma you can accumulate. And disrespecting them you carry the burden of your sins for several births. This is the law of Karma. We cannot fight it.. only have to abide by it. As we sow so shall we reap.

Keep smiling.. pray regularly with a joyful heart

    Love

  69. Hello Kaveetaa,

Thank you for your reply and advise. I understand what you are sying about being a ‘clinger’. Will try and work on that aspet.
I am still unclear about the amythethyst …should i tie at the bottom of the bed on the feet side and chant the mantra daily holding it in my hand? I do sleep on his right side so that is not a problem.
Aside from this kaveetaa I am going through severe depression and the present situation is agravating it.I have no one to whom I can open my heart out and talk to. I feel very lonely. I know one thing. I need to learn to think through the mind and not the heart. I am a ‘weakling’ My husband is treating me so shabbily and demeaningly. The worst part is I as a woman am letting him do that to me… As if i have no respect for womanhood. I dont know what is it in him that I still want to be with him after all this treatment.
What can I do to be strong and not cry at the drop of a hat? I need to keep my mind occupied and active elsewhere and not on him. Help me kaveetaa. The lusture is still dull. It needs some polishing. Sometimes in all this I feel I am losing my sanity and going out of my mind. I have to live for my son.
    Please help me kaveetaa….

  70. Surya..it is not possible and also not advisable for me to suggest, without actually seeing your environment first hand, any vastu and fengshui measures apart from the ones I have mentioned in this post and the comments from time to time.

Be positive.. dont dwell on problems..keep the aura of your surroundings pure and you will be guided intuitively.

    All the best.

    Hi Goldface,

    C’mon..Cheer up dear one.

About the amethyst.. look for details on this page

    http://www.wofs.com/index.php?option=com_content&Itemid=34&task=view&id=450

That done let me tell you I understand fully well what you are going through. Even a few words are enough. You know why? Because your problem is more or less Universal. It is important that you learn how to deal with these challenges effectively. That is the purpose you face them. You have to grow as a person, spiritually, emotionally.

Remember that whatever he may tell you or however he may treat you is unimportant unless YOU decide to believe him. How another behaves or talks is inconsequential and should not change our views about ourselves. WE have to live by our OWN integrity. Do not let it affect you. If you are clear in your mind and conscience about your deeds.. the rest is unimportant. Believe me. When he sees that you are unmoved by his ignoring you and your life carries on cheerfully, peacefully regardless, it will compel him to re-think.

The other advantage of this stance is the effect it will have on your personal aura. negativities surround us and enter our space when we are weak . That happens when we constantly dwell on misfortunes which saps our energy making us vulnerable for further negative happenings. It is a viscious circle and the key to which is held by us. Break the circle. DO NOT react as you have always done out of sheer force of habit. Decide to let it go after a minute and decide to be HAPPY. Read between the lines and understand what I am trying to tell you.

You said “The worst part is I as a woman am letting him do that to me… As if i have no respect for womanhood”

You are not LETTING him do anything to you. You are LETTING it affect you. Its your mind which is playing tricks with you and giving you this sense of guilt. His karma is with him ..you watch out for your own.. all will be fine then. Never cry. It only strengthens negative energy and will perpetuate the problem. It sows seeds for future births. Would you want that?

Spend some time in the morning, in quiet meditation and prayer..it is very important. Remember you are not just this body or this name or situation, somebody’s wife or mother. YOU are bigger than that. This is only the present avatar for 70 odd years. You are timeless and ageless. Feel the divinity within and respond to life from that space. My blessings are there with you.

    Keep smiling

    Love

  72. Dear Surya..heartfelt prayers for you and blessings .

Please do not be anxious. Pray to Lord Ganapati before you enter your home. If possible keep a tulsi plant in your home. It is known to negate any vastu dosh present.

Sprinkle Ganga Jal in all your rooms and do incense cleansing as well. Diwali and Lakshmi Puja is only a week away. This is an auspicious period. All will be well.

Love and be positive. Remember that the Lord is always with you.

  74. I have enjoyed reading your posts. I’m trying to feng-shui my cubicle at work. My birthday is 12-23-78. I have a basic understanding of the Bagua map and would like to know a little bit more about feng-shuing my cubicle. I have declutered my cubbicle (which cleared up my mind!) and I’m so exited that I’m getting so much work done (which I had greatly procrastinated on). I can feel the energy moving around and would like to know some items that are work appropriate. My cubicle is designed like a box and the bagua fits perfectly (9 squares). My coputer is permanantly sitting on my wealth and prosperity box. I’m hesitant of putting anything in my cubicle unless its feng-shui approved. so far I have in my Health and Family box a plant (fake one, no real plants allowed), wooden book/magazine holder. In a permanent cabinet located in the “helpful people and travel” I placed an elephant lamp facing the entrance for protection and intelligence. I also cleaned old files from my computer in hopes of also helping me with my “wealth and prosperity” box. If anything for sure it gave me peace of mind knowing where each file is located. I’m bummed that my back is facing the entrance… as my chair sits in the “center earth” any hints or guidance will be appreciated. I plan on doing this to my home too but wanted to try it out at work first since I spend a great deal of time here… I have shared the little bit I know with my co-workers and 3 of them have already started the declutering process…
    this is exciting and contagious.

  75. Hello Kaveetaa,

Thank you for your link on the amethyst. I shall look into a genuine lode and follow ccordingly. I understand what you are advising. ‘Believe in yourself and learn to love that peron.Just keep on doing your karma and dont dwell on the fruit’..right? I tend to seek approval from those people who are least concerned about me and I am crazy about them!!!! I think I have lost my sanity…:-( Lately I tend to go into depression and bouts of weeping a lot. I dont seem to be able to smile nowadays. Life doesnt hold any interest for me. Some days are fine and I can manage to wade through the days pecefully but some days are….sigh!
I have started to overwork myself to exhaustion for the simple reason that end of the day I be so tired that I can drop of to sleep(oblivion) at night. I just cant keep myself and my mind idle to relax and chill out for fear of facing that blank empty time without any kind of work.
Now I am fearing for my own sanity leave the marital problem aside. I know this is all related to my marraige. Every new moon and full moon brings these upheavals in me aside from other times too. Kaveetaa can you please suggest something for my sanity?
You mentioned something in one of your replies”Instead ensure that you change the salt containers regularly and place them in all corners of rooms as also dark places” I am not aware of this ritual. Please advise me further on this. But every saturday I mop the floor with salt water. Although this is sometimes very difficult as I am doing all this secretly without my husband knowing. The reason being he does not believe in god/or any other path of belief. I am clear and true in my action/deed. I am doing it for the family and my marraige. That is one of the reason I am unable to still get the photographs of my husband with his late wife off the wall. And now they are planning to hang a huge portrait of my mother-in-law also!!! What do I do? If I suggest otherwise it is not going to go down well with them.
Kaveetaa sorry for being such a cry baby but right now I am very confused and sometimes feel I am going out of my mind.

(still cant seem to get the initiative to love my handle name)

    Comment by Goldface — November 10, 2007 @ 6:38 pm | Reply

  76. Goldface..and I love your handle name..Something within made you choose it. Trust that intuition. It is the real you.

Its easy to get bogged down into misery due to your issues. But is that all you are made of? I dont think so. A person who is capable of loving anther so dearly has to be something more than what you have presently made yourself out to be.

Analyse the cause of your distress and you will see that it boils down to ‘desires’ of various hues. Havent our sages told us this is the root cause of all misery? So what is happening with you is that in the hope to be happy you are making yourself miserable. Dont do that. Dont look for happiness as something which wil come from another. It has to be within. I know these seem like oft repeated words. But its true.. personally experienced. If we reduce ourselves to becoming beggars we will receive alms at anothers mercy. Be a giver..not a receiver.

If possible try and read the ‘hanuman Chalisa’ everyday or atleast on tuesdays and saturdays. Praying is a positive action. Do the ‘mahamrityunjay jaap’ ..it is available on many sites.

Above all NEVER cry.. for a minute or two its fine. But keeping oneself in a sorrowful, teray state only PERPETUATES the seed to fructify into future births as sorrow. Do not carve misery on to your soul.It will not get erased easily. if you believe in prarabdha karma then all that we face today is only a fructification of past actions, good and bad. So go through it with a smile and with faith in the outcome. HE loves you..always remember that. Do not let yourself down.

Keeping small containers of raw salt in corners of rooms especially dark corners helps contain negative aura. Periodically refresh the salt. It helps.

Cheer up.. look at those less fortunate. Everyday one reads, hears, sees visuals of women burnt to death, made to swallow acid, tortured in unbelievable measures. Pray for them. Accept that life does not give you what you want. But you will make it sweet smelling and fragrant anyways. Love yourself and look at this avatar as a friend meant to teach you something . maybe it was to take you deeper on to the path of spirituality and make you realise deeply that Happiness lies within.Get in touch with it.

    Love and hugs

While it is true that a horseshoe should have its ends upwards, yet as a pendant that is difficult to apply. When one wears something its important to do so with positivity and assured of good results. This has been given to you with love and that is what is of value..

    Cheers!

  92. Dear Kaveetaa,

Hope you are well. I am not:-( As you may recall I contacted you last after my mother in law passed away and my husband and I had had a big fight.

After reading your advice I tried to act on it. Almost after 3 mth after her passing away my husband and I came to some sort of comfortable forgiveness for what happened. I thought we were finally having a better (not happy) married life than the rough patches. But it seems I was wrong.
2 days back my husband was getting ready to have dinner and our son msgd him to be picked up. Sp my husband decided to not sit down for dinner and go fetch our son. I have a belief that if someone is sitting to have food and then has to go out it is not good. His life is in danger. So I offered my husband a sip of water. He refused saying he did not believe in these superstitions. I pleaded and said please for my sake. He relented after sometime and drank the water. I felt very happy that he respected my fears/beliefs. But I was wrong. Next day after dinner I was talking with my father-in-law and he joined the conversation and steered it towards superstitions….One thing led to the other and the whole escalated into a fight with unintentionally the children’s name being brought in (he pushed me to do so). So he was very angry and now again he says he does not love me and wants me to leave. If I still want to live with him then its ok but we live as seperate entities. He said he will never give me his love….
Once again I have apologised to him but to no avail…sigh!! He is very stubborn by nature.
All my life I learnt to live thru my parents for them, then thru my firt husband for him, then after divorce for my son, and now for this husband. I do not know how to live for myself.
I had tried in this time to not be a ‘clinger’ but assuming that all is fine now, I was gaining confidence and thot he loved me too, so I took this step to push him(as he says) into the superstistion. Had he later on explained to me then am sure I would not have done it. I felt we both loved each other and keeping that in mind i took this action.. Oh I hope I am not confusing you with this long explanation.
Please help me Kaveetaa. What do I do? I tried to leave him alone for more time. Not cling to him constantly. But when you love someone beyond your imagination more than anything in life you tend to be more overconfident and make these errors(if you think it is one). What do I do to get his love back. Why is it that after some time our marraige train derails. With my body functions and cycle going through a change and its mood swings once again I am goign into depresion. I feel like killing myself. or running away….HELP ME PLEASE. GUIDE ME.

  94. hi,
we (my husband and I)have recently (4 motnhs back) moved to our new house-first house we bought togehter.
    all’s well except 3 things:
    1. stress level of my husband has increased a lot leading to almost non-existent sex life!we both dearly love each other and cuddle a lot but thats about it!
2.my husband has been working very hard and still loosing out on big opportunities right at the last minute
    3. inspite of having deep faith in God, I can not feel peaceful in the house on my own -especially at night.have been always paranoid about being on my own at night anyways but since we’v moved here I fear break-ins etc. the area we have moved to is safe and secure with neighbourhood watch etc but still feel scared at night. worse is that even when my husband’s home I feel someone might break in- this never was the case earlier.dont know what to do to get rid of this fear as I am sure its unfounded and unreasonable.I keep chanting gayatri mantra to put me to sleep.
I am essentailly a postive person and belive in ‘karma’. However the above are begining to worry me a bit now!
    please help!
    many thanks….
    keep the faith…

  95. Hello Kaveetaa,

Its been almost a month since I last wrote to you. Nothing has changed during that time with my husband. Infact now I am going into severe depression. The good days are very less as compared to the low days. Nothing seems to matter to me anymore. I do not want to go onto anti depressants. They make things look more bleak than good or positive.
He and his children are treating me so shabbily and inspite of all that I want to be with him!!! I think I have definitely lost my ‘marbles':-)
Pleeaaasee guide me Kaveetaa….What should I do? I have lost the capacity to think right and logically now. For me life is one big emotional rollercoaster that does not seem to stop.
Sorry for being such a cry-baby.

Look forward to prompt response and guidance.

    Thanks

I am having problem with my marital life. Mine is a love marriage and after having 3 yrs of marriage and blessed with a beautiful baby, i m not satisfied with my husband. After marriage, I have noticed so many changes in him and his attitude is totally careless towards me . he is eluctant to change himself. we seldom have normal talks. Most of the times, there is no talk during the night. only normal things. Actually, There is lack of compatibility b/w us. He actually not ready to understand me. My bedroom in upstairs and in the south east direction. I can’t change that. On entering the room, on the front left side is my bedroom and adjacent to that bathroom and a window. On the front wall while entering room, picture of me & my husband. On the face of bed(opp. to bed wall) poster of babies. On the right side of room, dressing and TV table. On the left side of the room while entering, door of bathroom. I have made some changes acc. to fengshui (remove fire element from room, leave space between bed and wall)but not too much change. Please help me and suggest some good tips to maintain a happy and haelthy r/ship with my husband.

I am facing marital or love life problems. I am married with a child and she is the only happiness in my life. My husband and I seem to be drifting apart. There seems to be no love or understanding between us. He never finds time to even have a little chat with me. We hardly even speak with each other except on weekends, if he is not upset, which he always is. I am already following the incense burning ritual as I believe in religious rituals. Please help.

a long-long time ago I have torn my own picture in half. Later I glued it back but the split line went across my forehead, nose & chest. A month ago I felt on asphalt with my face down, hit my head twice very hard, whiplashed, broke my nose, and injured my forehead all that in the same place where that line on the torn picture runs.

My question is what should I do with this picture now, toss it? cover it with something? Please help, i do not want to be hurt like that again.

  123. Our financial situation and income has steadily been going downhill for the last 6 years or so. I am afraid we will be foreclosed upon. I recently figured out that the kitchen is the money corner of the house and the bay window in the money corner of the room which is the money corner of the house broke about 6 years ago! I have to assume that the broken window in the very southeast corner of the house is the problem. The money problems began about the same time that the window broke. I know that I cannot afford to fix the double paned window. Is there a Feng Shui cure that I can place there? A crystal? A curtain? A plant outside of the window? Please help.

and had a minor injury in my tail bone but it took me a lot of time to recover. Also,my mom in law fell seriously ill

but by the grace of god, she recovered.

Since I have statrted to stay at my in laws place I have always sensed negative vibes… no one in this house do

These days my husband is very stressed with his job and wants to change but unfortunately..nothing is

happeing…everyday he comes back.. he is upset.

My mom in law and my husband everyday have an argument. Today a few minutes back.. they again had a major fight…

My husband tries his best to create a balance between keeping me happy..keeping his mom hap and keeping my parents

happy.. but it doesn’t seem to be happening.. as in my mom in law seems to have new problems everyday with him or

    me.

you see i come from a family where everyday we prayed..my parents meditate and do chantings. I have never seen..such

big fights.. daily arguments.. I get very scared when I see all this at my in laws home…

Am shivering a little as am writing to you.

I saw your article and you seemed to have helped so many. Kindly let me know.. how can I make things better with

The main door is in the SouthEast sector – both I and my upstairs neighbor enter through and into a hallway where my door is on the left of the hallway and his is just just a few inches past my condo door at the end of the hallway..
I have only a part-time job with my holistic healing being intermittant with clients. I live next door to what I call collectors…their grounds are littered with old childrens plastic benches, towers, and scatterings of tools and garden ‘decorations’.
I am looking for love to be with a compatible partner and my career to find financial stability. A few health problems that I am currently working on. (a woman died in her bed – the middle room being the bedroom and th last tenant had health issues as well seems to need ‘smudging’ quite frequently … have to walk throuigh to get from the livinmgroom to the kitchen & bathroom which is by compass direction NorthEast sector.
I’ve placed a round ceramic grey ‘globe’ in the NorthWest sector outside for attracting male energy and have nightstands with a night star mapped globe on the Northwest one.
There is a door at the North ‘entrance’ if I (again) use the compass method. I attempt to honor the compass method more and have each room reflect the corners with appropriate colors to bring good chi to the room…..like plastic bamboo to the left corner from entering into the livingroom (which is also the SouthWest sector) adding two red hearts for love and purple for wealth.
I’m an West person so please tell me how to arrange or add to energise and enhance my situation

  141. I also have silk orchids to help once I’m in my home…..to the left which would typically be the wisdom/knowledge area (but again honooing the compass area would be South/SouthEAst) with a small but well placed statue of Buddha and round circles of bamboo hanging like water ringlets on a pole that is to symbolize raining money. In my room I have picturesque photos of a the outdoors to energize the green and earth …almost looks like you’re looking out two wellplace ‘windows’.Oh, by the way I have a metal gong placed on the outside Northwest corner to the right of the North door if you were facing North to South. Your sound advice and expert wisdom to help corfrect any of my situation would be greatly appreciated. <3

  142. Hi Kavita,
today only I came across your blog…. Please give me some suggestions of what should I do to get harmony in the house as well as in our marriage.
I stay in 3BHK flat with my husband and mother in law. She joined us almost 3 years back, and started staying with us. Since we came to this house, iam noticing that me and my husband have quarrels for petty reasons.
For two years my mother in law troubled me, by pointing out in whatever i do, be it cooking or doing household chores. When i would get irritated with her comments, and get show my feelings verbally, my husband would get into altercations with me. And this continued till now. Since 7 months I am caring for my mother in law as she is paralytic, bedridden now. Even when iam undergoing so much of trauma, my husband is not showing any considerations, but keeps on nagging me for even small things.
We have north facing entrance door. Also, there is a bedroom in northeast crner with attached bathroom-western toilet. And the puja room is west facing, with a wall sharing with bathroom of northeast bedroom.
We have kept a shoe cupboard in the living room, exactly in front of the main door. Also the exact southeast area has utility area with a tap for washing machine, and vessel washing. And sharing utility wall is kitchen.
Please can you tell me what changes should I do in my house, to get harmony in our marriage and house. I feel no peace of mind since my mother in law joined us. I feel she has bad aura, and keeps absorbing my positive energy.
    Iam awaiting for your reply…
    Thank you …….

  143. The first principle in the Feng Shui philosophy is that every person, place, and thing is alive with Ch’i, or vital energy. In addition to being molecularly alive, our material possessions are subjectively alive with our thoughts, feelings, and associations. This concept is all-inclusive and tends to throw a monkey wrench into how we’ve viewed the world to date. It changes our physical existence from a world that is largely inanimate to a world “who” is completely alive.

Di, I have a query. Actually a couple of months ago I bought a marble showpiece of Ganesha from Banaras for my boyfriend. After I bought it my cousin brother said gifting ganesha to sumbdy close to you spoils relation & even he has experienced dat. But as I had already bought it & made my mind to gift him I was in dilemma. So, what I did was I exchanged d showpiece for Re.1 wid my bfnd. To avoid it as gift.He has kept in the puja ghar. His mom offers prayer to d idol.
Since last 1 month I have noticed a great change in myself. I am going through frequent weird thoughts which distracts me and leave me stressed. Generally these are regarding my past bad experiences of love, sometimes I consider so much the happenings around me for which even long time relations break that it leave me scared of some unknown reason, & now thoughts of my past infatuations and sometimes thoughts against him….& none of these are something I want to think or concentrate. All these revolves in my mind randomly & automatically like a whirl and like one after another. Am getting maniac of such thoughts. Many a times I feel I am in those days rather being in present. These thoughts were never before.
This is hampering my relation, my studies & sometimes I keep weeping alone in my room coz these hurts me a lot. But I know I love this person a lot & he do so. He is really a very nice person. Even we have plan to get married in future. We know each other & spend time for quite a long time. But we are in affair since August 2012.
Its an earnest request…Pls suggest me something to get peace of my mind & to enjoy my present good time which I cudnt b’coz of these silly thoughts. I am helpless di. Please help me out.
For your convinience My DOB is 11th March, 1989, Time:- 1:53 pm & Location:- Chandigarh
My current Location is West Bengal, Howrah.
