Since I have been graciously awarded the above by Mapiprincesa , felt it would be in the propriety of things to carry it forward. Hedonism as a philosophy is highly contagious.
Although Mapiprincesa grandly made her choice from among the blogosphere globally(wow) I am nominating five bloggers from our desi sphere ..’Kyunki dil hai hindustani’. I think the under mentioned ‘roaaaaaarrrr’ well enough to be heard and applauded. They are encouraged to add the above image on to their website, nominate their ‘five’ and keep the roarrrr alive in the blogging safari. (more…)

Today is the tenth death anniversary of Princess Diana and the euphoria continues as fervently with no signs of abating. A memorial sevice that had been in the news for a while since Camilla Prince Charles present wife and the ‘third person’ referred to by Diana in her marriage had been invited by Dianas sons.
Camillas inclusion had shocked and appalled many at the time. I had written of it as well in indignation, with no intention of masking the antipathy, wondering how on earth could Camilla be a part of the ceremony in memory of Diana despite being someone who had played a pivotal role in her misery. A couple of weeks ago, I received an articulately worded mail from a correspondent of NDTV stating that she’d read Sachiniti and therefore requested an interview. So we got together for the shoot. (more…)

To look upon life as a friend which has stood you in good stead, backing you on the ‘ups’ and supporting you on the ‘downs, has its advantages. It never fails to provide you with reason to reinforce your faith in the truism of this tangibly elusive affirmation.
On my way to work and in between deadlines received this mail, by this truly amazing writer..Swati,informing me of my story, sent a while back, published on the NDTV website,by process of elimination
Hi Kaveetha,
Just a quick one to let you know that I was overwhelmed by your composition
eulogizing your dad. I lost my father in Nov 2000, quite unexpectedly as
well and I was in Delhi then completing my Grad. But i do remember that car
journey to dehradoon where I knew I’d have to go and face the inevitable and
pinching myself hard every few minutes hoping as hell that this would be a
nightmare.
Life’s amazing isnt it. We all think our parents will be there forever and
you feel almost embarrased of being robbed of them. It feels like God’s put
you in the naughty corner and all eyes are on you feeling sorry.
Your writing is brilliant and I felt like you were putting in words what i
feel when I see my mum being brave for us two girls.
I pray for your Dad and am sure he’d be very proud of you. Here’s wishing
your mum and yourself alll the best for the future.
Warm wishes,
Swati.
Thanks Swati..There is nothing more fulfilling than the sound of your echo resounding in anothers’ heart.
The pain of losing a parent was brilliantly put in her words.. “It feels like God’s put you in the naughty corner and all eyes are on you feeling sorry.”

Moments such as these, which arrive so unexpectedly in the life
of a blogger, help to brighten it^**^up, apart from the fact that one can always present this with a flourish to hubby every time he cribs “What is there to gain from all of this..you just dont care for me anymore…free time is comp time..lets go to the movies..look what the papers have to say of the internet..it causes depression.. give it up..”

With encouraging Bloggers such as amiable_indian, it is no wonder Indian pad is what it is…a coool site.

Today is the 13th and to be selected as “Desicritic of the day”,is a great start to the day.
Pleasantly surprised.I consider myself a novice, still floundering in this gargantuan universe of erstwhile bloggers.
Gratefully accepted though. It means a lot since the site in question is among the best we South Asians can boast of.
