I felt the urge to share with you all this fantastic power point presentation Of Vincent Van Goghs paintings set to a divine melody..have your speakers on.
I confess I can hardly term myself a connoisseur in the world of Art but VVGs paintings move me beyond words. I suspect it has to do with having read his autobiography ‘ Lust For Life’. It is a book which provides such touching insights into the life and times of VVG. An artist whose works of Art are treasured as a national heritage and sold for millions of dollars committed suicide due to rejection and poverty.
He managed to sell only a single painting in his uneventful life ! How paradoxical is that. reminds you of Mirza Ghalib. Both of these died in penury. It is only after their death that the world finally realised the talent that bespoke of genius.
Nothing is more tragic than a talent dying unsung. It makes my soul cry out. why is the world only a place that nurtures and celebrates mediocrity? Why do most geniuses face the tormentors of scoff and scorn? Why cannot we cherish talent when it is amidst us? Does death bring on Divinity? If so, then its a cruel world we live in..not wanting to be a part of this I try and applaud any talent or art when it crosses my path. Godliness reflects through these souls. Let us never ignore them thereby causing untold misery to these sensitive lives.
Enjoy the show..and revel in the glory of sheer genius
